You can probably agree with me when I say that it is hard to find modern Christian music that is enjoyable to listen to. Over the last year, I’ve spent a lot of time looking for music that glorifies God but doesn’t give 2010 Christian radio vibes.
This list will help spice up your current playlist and give you songs to listen to for whatever mood you’re in. That being said, it’s also really important that we aren’t filling our minds with things that don’t glorify God.
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Colossians 3:2
What we allow into our ears sets our minds on what we’re listening to. This is why we need to listen to music that glorifies God and helps our focus be on things that are pleasing to Him.
1. Rivers & Robots
Rivers & Robots is an Indie Worship Band out of the UK. A lot of their music comes directly from Bible passages and is produced mostly at home with a laptop. The band now works as full-time missionaries in Manchester, hosting monthly worship services.
Click the video below to listen to satisfy. This song is inspired by two different Psalms and how God is the only one who can truly satisfy us.
2. Isla Vista Worship
Isla Vista Worship has a passion to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into their own city. They have a mixture of indie and gospel music, which is perfect for studying.

3. Sxxnt
Stephen Bradley started releasing music under the name “Sxxnt”, his whole purpose is to rework well-known worship songs into a lo-fi version. He wanted to make this music for personal devotional times, which is exactly where I see myself listening to his music.
4. Chris Renzema
The first song I listened to, and my favorite song by Chris Renzema is “How to Be Yours”. The reason I love listening to Chris Renzema is that he sings the way he would talk, he doesn’t use complex words.
Chris uses words that allow you to connect to these songs in true worship. The point of worship is to be in adoration of our God, and I feel like Chris does this very well.
5. John Mark Patana
If you could describe the kind of music I listen to into one artist, it would be John Mark Patana. He does a great job at tying the Gospel into his music, which I really appreciate.
A lot of Bands and Artists change their music to make it attractive to the world. Instead of letting the music be beautiful because of the message it has. John Mark Patana does a great job at letting his music share the beauty of the Gospel.
6. Joshua Leventhal
I’ve just only recently started listening to Joshua Leventhal, but what I’ve listened to so far is so good. It’s a type of music you listen to when you’re flat on your face like peter was in Luke.
But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.”
Luke 5:8
It reminds you of the importance of repentance and giving your whole self to Christ.
7. Jon Guerra
Jon Guerra was the first Christian artist that I found that I really enjoyed listening to because of the music, not just the lyrics. It’s ridiculously relatable, he asks a lot of the same questions I’ve asked in my pursuit of Jesus.
He just released a new song called “Hosanna Song” this year. This song makes you realize how alone Christ was and reminds you of the heartbreaking actions that took place.
8. IMRSQD
IMRSQD is a Christian rapper and has great Christian worship songs. He’s very sound theologically, but the music is also perfect to listen to while you’re in the gym or out for a run.
He’s a pretty new artist, so there isn’t a ton of music to listen to, but what he does have is really solid. On top of that, you’ll be able to listen to him as he grows his career in the music industry and in his pursuit of Jesus.
9. Montel Fish
I discovered Montel Fish earlier this year, and I’ve loved every single song he’s put out. Most of his songs are pretty chill and are great to listen to them when I’m studying or writing.
Montel is also very creative in the way he writes his music, my favorite song “Talk 2 Me” is written from both God’s perspective and his perspective, as if they were having a conversation.
10. WYLD
WYLD is an up-and-coming UK artist who wants to use his musical gifts to glorify God. Paul is the leader of this band and has been pursuing music to share the gospel since 2015.
WYLD has awesome techno music, again all very glorifying to God, but also modern. I love seeing more bands that take present-day music and share the Gospel through their lyrics.
11. Lovkn
If you like acoustic music, then you’re going to love Lovkn.
“It all began with a desire to write a song that honestly expressed my emotions to God. In walking through a season in my life where no other song but my own was going to get me through to the other side, I had to wrestle it out with God.”
Lovkn
Steven (Lovkn) is real and raw with all his songs. He’s experienced lows, but in those lows, he’s sought the Lord and it’s reflected in his music.

Iron Bell Worship
They said it perfectly, you can tell that they have a passion for people to fall more in love with God through their music.
20. Cory Asbury
Cory Asbury has a very special place in my heart, especially his song “Reckless Love”. It’s the song that I was listening to when I gave my life to the Lord.
21. Mack Brock
Mack Brock’s music is great music to listen to while you’re praying. A lot of his music is just pure adoration for who God is and what He did for us on the cross. A few songs I like by Mack are:
1. Into Dust
2. Greater Things
3. I am Loved
I highly encourage looking him up and listening to these songs during your quiet times.
22. Fearless BND
Fearless BND is committed to raising up fellow believers who do not lot their fear control them.
“A SCARED WORLD NEEDS A FEARLESS CHURCH”
A.W. TOZER.
Fearless BND is embracing being a fearless church that is willing to do anything for Christ.
Whenever I’m down, I love to dance, it helps me get into a positive mood. Fearless BND had some great dancing music that is also very biblical.
23. Lord’s Child
Lord’s Child is a mix between chill and rap music. A lot of their music is like a conversation between the Lord and the singer or you and the singer. I love this because the music connects so much deeper with my soul. It’s relatable and connects with you in a different way from other music.

Lion of Judah is a small group based in the UK that produces modern Christian music. They have a very unique style. They just came out with a new album called “Lifeline” which is small, but full of great lyrics.

27. CASS
CASS makes awesome R&B music, in fact, she earned the #1 R&B chart placing and #8 on all albums charts in New Zealand.
She wants to reach those who don’t know God and to empower those who do know God.
iamcass.com
Cass wants to encourage other believers while also creating music that is intriguing to unbelievers.
28. Beau Maddox
Beau Maddox has only come out with one album, but it is so good and so full of love for God. His music is probably the closest thing on this list to “2010 Christian radio” but he’s done a good job at adding some modern aspects to his music.
29. Beach Chapel
Beach Chapel has some of the coolest voices I’ve heard in the Christian music community. I’d really suggest going and listening to their song “Swim”, It’s about standing with God in the oceans of our lives, and keeping our eyes focused on Him.
30. MBL Worship
MBL Worship does an amazing job at putting scripture right into their music, which is why I love their music. Their best song in my opinion is “See You Right (Luke 7)” which gets a lot of its lyrics right from Luke, which is really cool to see.
I hope that through listening to each of these Bands/Artists you will seek discernment from the Holy Spirit. I’m a human just as much as you are, and I don’t have it all right.
I also hope that you can enjoy your Christian playlist a little more and find songs that bring you closer to Him, have a blessed day.
