Christians should desire to disciple others as Jesus called us to do. It is helpful to have resources to help us grow in this area. There are many resources to help us in this area such as books videos and other material.

These are some different free online resources to help us grow. Each one is explained in detail including how many lessons are included, where to find these resources and those who speak or write these resources.
To beginning, we will look at a course one of the professors at my college, Bethany Global University, made all about discipleship.
1. The Art Of Discipleship
The Art of Discipleship is a free online course offered by Bethany Global University. It is one of their ten current enrichment courses available to anyone.
This course includes eleven lessons that focus on topics including the heart of discipleship, how to initiate discipleship, and confrontation.
Christians are called and commanded to make disciples as Jesus tells his disciples in Matthew 28. This course aims to equip us to go and make disciples.
This course is taught by Kenneth Ortiz, he has an MDiv from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is also currently pursuing his PhD in Historical Theology. He is also an author of multiple books and hosts a podcast called, “Theology For the Rest Of Us.”
2. Heart Focused Discipleship
Deeper Walk International offers a free online course to help Christians grow in their walk with Christ with a focus on the heart called Heart Focused Discipleship.
There are eight lessons offered, each one with a different emphasis on growing in our walk with Christ.
This course wants those taking this course to focus on the heart of discipleship, they deal with issues in life such as bondage to sin, spiritual warfare, and emotional healing.
These lessons are taught by the president of Deeper Walk International, Dr. Marcus Warner. He is a pastor with three degrees and has written many books.
3. Discipleship: The Road Less Taken
Discipleship: The Road Less Taken is a course available online for free that aims to help us as Christians grow spiritually to help bring others to Christ. They recognize that we first need to be true disciples before we can disciple others.
Through this course teaches how to follow through on the Great Commission starting in our own life and our relationship with God.
Pastor Greg Laurie teaches this course which includes video teachings, reflection questions, and memory verses.
Greg Laurie is a pastor and author. He is well known for the many books he has written and is known for being the senior pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship.
4. Making Disciples
The Gospel Coalition offers a free three-part course called Making Disciples.
Each lesson covers different important topics for when we disciple others. These lessons include the topics of considering the cost, consider the joy, and consider the process.
This course includes videos that cover the topics listed above. They are all taught by well-educated pastors, Ryan Griffith, and David Mathis.
They also list recommended sources for those looking to deepen their understanding and grow in discipleship.
5. Living in Christ
Going Farther is a website that offers free online resources and courses to help Christians and those wondering about God grow in their faith. They offer a course called, “Living in Christ” that focus on helping Christians grow in their faith.
There are four lessons in this course. These lessons are about knowing Christ, growing in Christ, obeying Christ, and witnessing for Christ.
This course focuses on many different aspects of our walk with Christ, it helps us grow in our faith and learn about going out and witnessing.
6. Dynamics of Christian Spirituality
This course, Dynamics of Christian Spirituality, offered by Biblical Training goes over spiritual growth and becoming more like Christ.
There are eleven lectures within this course. There is a wide range of topics covered including historical background, the importance of community, purpose, meaning, and calling.
Throughout this course, you will grow spiritually. Each lecture helps those watching to learn more and look more like Christ.
This course is taught by Glen Scorgie a professor at Bethel Seminary in San Diego.
7. Discipleship in Community
Discipleship in Community: Spiritual Formation and the Church, is a course that covers what community is and how it relates to our faith. This course includes twenty-one lessons ranging from many topics.
There are lessons on spiritual maturity, the church, and spiritual disciplines. This course aims to help those taking it to come out of the course with a better understanding of the Church and the community within.
John R. Lillis is an accomplished pastor and professor. He has taught and pastored all over the world. In this course, you will get to hear him speak on the topic of discipleship within community.
8. Deep Discipleship
Deep Discipleship is a course that helps us learn about Jesus, and becoming more like him. This course takes a deep look into who God is and how He is working in our lives.
There are six parts to this study, each one cover a different aspect of deep discipleship. The different parts of this study covers topics such as what discipleship means, the goal of discipleship, and what a disciple looks like.
This study is written by J.T. English, a pastor and author. He brings great insight into the topic of discipleship.
9. Discipleship Tips: Keeping Christ Central
In this study of discipleship, Discipleship Tips: Keeping Christ Central, topics of how to grow in your discipleship are covered in this study.
There are seven parts to this study, each one is over different tips to keep Christ central in your discipleship. Topics such as prayer, and keeping our relationship with Jesus strong.
They also talk about the time it takes to disciple others and that it is not a quick process. This study covers many helpful topics to help us effectively disciple others.
This study was made using experiences taken from those working with HOPE International, and based on writings by Matthew Rohrs. Matthew Rohrs was a director at HOPE International and now works with other organizations.
All of these courses are online and are free. It is amazing how we can learn and grow with the resources that are available at our fingertips. The Bible is an amazing and vital resource for growing in our walk with Christ. We can also learn from those who have studied different aspects of God’s words intentionally can help us grow in our understanding of our role as Christians.
It is important to note that all of these online courses and studies are free, but an account is needed to access the lessons available. These accounts are free but might take some time to create. Hopefully one, or multiple of these courses help you grow in your walk with Christ and help you as you disciple others.
